Once a little boy sent me a charming card with a little drawing on it. I loved it. I answer all my children’s letters — sometimes very hastily — but this one I lingered over. I sent him a card and I drew a picture of a Wild Thing on it. I wrote, ‘Dear Jim: I loved your card.’ Then I got a letter back from his mother and she said, ‘Jim loved your card so much he ate it.’ That to me was one of the highest compliments I’ve ever received. He didn’t care that it was an original Maurice Sendak drawing or anything. He saw it, he loved it, he ate it.

ACen was like a second home for me, I felt like I belonged there. And now that I’m back in the “real world” it all feels like a dream. A dream I can’t have until next year.

My boyfriend tried to explain this to me before I went. I didn’t really get it until I was actually /there/, though. The sense of community is AMAZING, and I didn’t meet one rude person the entire weekend - for a pessimist, it gave me back a bit of faith in humanity.
My boyfriend and I at ACen. :3 He’s been crossplaying there for four years now, and the reactions are great. My favorite was the guy who pulled us aside, asked him if he was gay, he introduced me as his girlfriend and the guy turned to his friend and said “See! I told you to wear it! There is no gay here!”
It was so fun, though. Too bad the only photo we took of ourselves came out blurry. I know TONS of people took photos of us, though, so if you have a decent one I would love you forever! <3
Made it my goal at ACen to take photos with all the fellow ponies I could fine! Almost got all of the mane six. ;)
